Meet our Foster Parents, Ann & Donna - Changing Futures Fostering

Meet our Foster Parents, Ann & Donna

Meet Ann & Donna!

As our Agency continues to grow and grow we are pleased to introduce Ann & Donna! The mother and daughter duo are foster parents at our Agency. We are thrilled to have them at our Agency and it’s been great to hear about their journey into fostering.

Why did you want to become foster parents?

We felt now we have the time and patience to give to a child.  To be able to pass on knowledge and skills and help children become the best they can be.

What was it that made you want to foster with Changing Futures?

Having worked in the community/voluntary sector for about 20 years I have always been person centred. I feel Changing Futures share my values through their Therapeutic working.  Their information just sounded right for me and my daughter.

How would you describe your experience of becoming foster parents?

The training was very informative.  It has given more insight into why children/adults act the way they do, to look past their actions and focus on their needs.  The process was very thorough, which it needs to be.  They training was intense at first but it needs to be, it gets you thinking outside of the box.  I didn’t realise how much I knew, my daughter felt the same.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about fostering?

Go for it!  It may have its challenges but what doesn’t.  It will be worth it in the end.

Why do you think fostering is important?

A child/young person needs to have stability, love, support etc to help them thrive.

We’re looking for new and experienced foster parents to join our Agency from across the North East. You can learn more about how to get started by completing our contact form.
