Hi! We’re Karl & Kayliegh! We’ve been together since 2010 and have a daughter who is nearly 5 years old! In our spare time we have renovated properties and are currently renovating a T25 campervan!

Why did you want to foster?

We love spending time with our daughter and knew we could offer additional children the same opportunities and a loving family. Last year we moved into a bigger family home and our daughter is now at a great age to play and encourage other children, we felt that this was the right time to do this. We enjoy taking our daughter out for days at the beach and we look forward to encouraging other children and giving them the same experience.

We choose Changing Futures Fostering as we liked the fact that they are local and have a dedicated team who offers round the clock support and training in helping us help young children.

What did you learn on the fostering training?

It was a real eye opener into what some of these children will have experienced so far and how best to interpret their reactions and to how we can best help them to cope going forward.

What are you most looking forward to about fostering?

We’re hoping to make a difference to some children’s life and really give them a better start. Watching them grow in confidence and achieve anything they set their mind to from the big things to even the littler things like learning to read for themselves and for us all to have as much fun as possible.

If you are thinking about fostering just go for it, there are so many children who need guidance and support, for us we would be doing activities, days out, school runs etc anyway so inviting another child into our lives and home just made sense.
